Interested in walkers for rent? Walkers are a great solution for those who will need a mobility aid for a few weeks or months. They provide greater stability than a cane but are not as complex or large as a wheelchair. In San Diego, many people use walkers for a variety of reasons.
Understanding the Different Types of Walkers
A walker is safe and convenient, allowing you to move and balance more easily. It is a good choice if you need to alleviate pressure on weak or painful joints. Walkers must be lifted and moved during operation, so they are easy to use indoors. At the bottom of each leg, an individual platform helps provide a greater amount of friction, supporting balance. Smaller wheels are used.
Heavy Duty Walker
A “heavy duty” walker is similar in structure to a standard walker, but has a few differences. The structure is reinforced with additional material and may have more crossbars for an even firmer stance. The wheels are larger and tend to be positioned on both sides of the walker legs instead of just one. This allows the user to achieve greater outdoor mobility away from paved paths.
